From a career switch that took me out of the kitchen and into IT, to building a career across Nepal and Australia — I bring curiosity, patience, and a preference for fixing things properly the first time.
I'm analytical and detail-oriented, the kind of person who wants to understand why something broke, not just get it working again. Nine years in professional kitchens taught me to stay calm under pressure and keep things moving even when several things need attention at once — habits that carried straight over into IT support. I'm adaptable by necessity, having rebuilt my career from scratch in a new country, and I'm a steady, dependable team player who'd rather ask questions and get it right than guess.
I care about doing things properly rather than patching over them — my instinct at work is to chase the root cause of a problem and fix it at the infrastructure level, not just apply a quick workaround. I value continuous learning, honesty about what I do and don't know yet, and giving back where I can — I'm not currently a formal volunteer, but I contribute through occasional donations and want to find more direct ways to support my community over time.
Outside of work, cricket has been a constant throughout my life — from growing up in Gulmi, Nepal, to still playing regularly here in Sydney. I'm also increasingly drawn to technology beyond the workday: exploring new IT tools, tinkering with small projects, and following developments in cloud computing and cybersecurity out of genuine curiosity rather than obligation. When I get the chance, I like to travel — I've road-tripped to Melbourne and, more recently, explored Tasmania.
I'm working toward becoming a Cybersecurity Engineer. My current role as an ICT System Support Officer at Just Better Care Australia — where I manage Microsoft 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Entra ID environments across a multi-franchise network — combined with my Microsoft AZ-900 and MS-900 certifications, is the foundation I'm building on to move into security-focused work.
